Quitting can be really stressful or really satisfying, depending on your situation and just how much you hate or love your job. Some people really just can’t stand to leave without making some noise, and these four employees are among the top in epic quits.
I Quit via The Steve Harvey Show
This barista didn’t have any hard feelings against his employer, but he certainly didn’t want to be a barista forever. Backed up by a snazzy-looking quintet, this guy makes a very pleasant, humorous situation out of quitting his job.
F*ck It, I Quit
Definitely not the way I’d go about quitting my job as a news anchor, but when KTVA employee Charlo Greene decided to pursue her dreams of legalizing marijuana in Alaska, she made the (rather stern) announcement during a broadcast on the evening news.
And yes, the F word is in the video.
Marine Strips His Medals, Quits
US Marine John Michael Turner stripped his medals before quitting to the applause of the audience. He is part of a group known as Iraq Veterans Against The War, and he speaks about his experiences during his time with the Marines.
Warning: some of his stories can be upsetting or disturbing to some viewers.
I Quit During a Superbowl Commercial
Gwen Dean quit her job as a mechanical engineer infront of millions during the US Super Bowl (including her boss). GoDaddy hosts the commercial on YouTube, stating that they wish her the best as she pursues her dream of working for herself. While this may be clever advertising for GoDaddy (coupled with the #LiveYourDream hashtag), it probably wasn’t the best evening for her boss.
Though not all of these situations are the most professional (I’m sure the SuperBowl commercial was worked out ahead of time), they definitely bring new ideas on how to quit your job.
What do you think? Would you ever quit in a more creative manner? Do you have the guts to quit on live TV?
