5 Christmas Recipes that will make you feel more 'Merry at Work'

Want to enjoy the holidays a bit more? You can’t get out of your 9 to 5 office hours, but why not find ways to make them a little bit more enjoyable! With the recipes below, you’ll be able to LOVE the time you spend working every day.

Peppermint Brittle

Take two pounds of white chocolate and 30 candy canes, melt the chocolate in a pan or microwave, grind up the candy canes, and combine the two ingredients. Spread the mixture in a pan, and let it sit for at least an hour. Once the mixture has chilled, break it into small pieces, pack in a bag, and bring it to work. Any time you feel the need for a chocolate break, get out a piece and munch. Drop a few pieces into your coffee for a wicked peppermint mocha, or share it with your coworkers for MAD brownie points!

Work-Friendly Eggnog

For this recipe, you will need milk, sugar, rum, cream, vanilla extract, ground nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and eggs. Combine the milk with the spices and vanilla, heat in a saucepan until it begins to boil, and add in the sugar and eggs--which you will have combined in a separate bowl. Add in the rum at the very end, but using just 1 cup instead of the 2 ½ cups called for in the recipe. It’s about being happy at work, not sloshed!

Hot Apple Cider

If your office is a bit chilly, this drink is GUARANTEED to warm you up! Combine apple cider with orange slices, sugar, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and apples, and heat it up until the mixture is nice and hot. Add in the rum at the very end, and enjoy the spicy, tangy taste of this drink. Just make sure that it cools off before you put it into the thermos and bring it to work, as the alcohol will be burned away if it’s too hot.

Eggnog Cheesecake

Can you really combine two of the most delicious Christmas foods into one? Absolutely! This recipe requires eggnog as one of the ingredients, along with eggs, sugar, graham crackers (for the crust), cream cheese, nutmeg, and a dash of rum. You’ll find that it’s one of the most brilliant holiday recipes, and bringing it to work with you will help you get on your boss’ good side. After all, who can say no to cheesecake?

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Can anything be more Christmas-y than eating chocolate chip cookies? Bake up a batch of these to spread some serious goodwill at work! You’ll need flour, sugar, baking soda, butter, vanilla pudding mix, vanilla, eggs, and chocolate chips, but the recipe is very easy to follow. You can have a nice batch of cookies ready in no time, and they’re easy to pack in a Tupperware container to bring to the office. To put some smiles on the faces of your coworkers, it doesn’t get better than these cookies!
