5 Reasons Why Having a Business Card is Important

A business card is your personal ticket. It’s the one thing that’s truly unique to you because nobody can copy it. Even if you offer the same services as another company, they can’t match your business card. Despite the onset of the digital age, the business card has stood firm. It remains a staple of business, and that means you can’t ignore it. In this article, we’re going to show you a few of the reasons why having a business card is so important.

#1 Ease of Use

It’s far easier to exchange contact details with someone when you can hand them a premade card. It’s durable in their pockets and it’s not going to fall apart in the winter or the summer. It’s also more professional and less time-consuming than asking whether someone has a pen to write everything down with. In short, it’s just a more convenient method of passing on your details.

#2 Available to Everyone

There are a lot of apps that allow you to transfer virtual contact details to potential business partners. Whilst we can’t deny how useful tools like this can be, they aren’t available to everyone. Not all people you meet are going to invest in the latest technologies. A business card avoids this because all you have to do is pass the card over. It doesn’t matter who they are. You can pass on your contact details to practically anyone.

 #3 A Real Reminder

Emails are so impersonal. Social media messages are impersonal. A card as part of a marketing leaflet is impersonal. On the other hand, a business card passed from hand to hand offers a real reminder of the meeting. Business people meet hundreds of people every year. If you’re meeting someone and providing them with a little reminder of that meeting, you’re more likely to stand out in their minds.

 #4 It’s the Done Thing

The fact of the matter is your opinions on it don’t really matter. Even if business cards aren’t your thing, they’re still expected as part of any event. Whenever you attend a conference you will always see people asking for business cards and handing them out. If you don’t have one, you’re going to stand out for all the wrong reasons.

Believe it or not, tradition continues to hold an important place all over the world. If you don’t conform to these traditions, people may see you as unprofessional. In the middle of a meeting with new contacts, not having a business card is the equivalent of walking into the room in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

 #5 Low-Cost Marketing

That’s right, this is low-cost marketing at its finest. It doesn’t cost anything more than a few dollars to have hundreds of cards printed. You don’t have to worry about blowing your budget on a marketing option that has been proven to work time and time again.

Don’t think that you’re compromising on quality by opting for something that only costs a few dollars. These printers produce thousands of cards each day. They can afford to lower the prices due to their long production lines and low running costs. For just a few dollars, you can get a business card with all the trimmings.

On a final note, make sure you do your research when choosing a supplier. Quality should take precedence over everything else. If you aren’t getting a professional business card, you might as well hand out a scrap of paper with your name on it. People will notice and they will judge your company on something like this.
