5 WordPress SEO Plugins

Search engine optimization (SEO) is very important for the success of any site. When your site is optimized, it helps improve your search engine ranking, thus making it easier for people to find you. This in turn will result in increased traffic to your site. However, SEO seems like rocket science to many website or blog owners. Fortunately, there are several WordPress plugins out there that can make work easier for you.

1. SEOPressor

This is one of the most effective SEO plugins available. It comes with a drag-and-drop functionality which enables you to easily place keywords into your content. SEOPressor also comes with a great inbuilt tool which you can use for keyword research. This feature allows you to save the time you would have spent doing keyword research using other services. This plugin has a powerful analysis algorithm which helps you figure out the SEO status of your content. It checks for internal and outbound links, and also checks whether your images have alt tags.

2. Ultimate Video SEO

This is a great plugin for anyone running a video blog and wanting to attract more organic traffic. Once you’ve installed the plugin, you can immediately begin creating new posts. A new field will appear below your post editor which will enable you to add the video, together with its thumbnail and details. The Ultimate Video SEO plugin generates a video sitemap which makes it easier for search engines like Google to index your content. This enhances your search engine rankings, thus attracting more organic traffic. This plugin integrates with video hosting sites such as DailymotionVimeo and YouTube.

3. All in One SEO Pack

With more than 21 million downloads, this is one of the most popular WordPress SEO plugins. It is suitable for anyone involved in ecommerce, blogging or online business. If you are a blogger who knows little about SEO, All in One SEO Pack can automatically create meta keywords and descriptions for your posts, as well as optimize your titles. It can also generate alt tags for your images. This plugin comes with modern algorithms which check your site for any duplicate content. All in One SEO Pack is available in a free and a pro version.

4. WordPress SEO by Yoast

Created by SEO guru Joost de Valk, WordPress SEO by Yoast is another very famous plugin. Boasting over 15 million downloads, this plugin has been used by leading online magazines and sites such as The Next Web and Mashable. After typing in your keyword into the relevant tag, WordPress SEO by Yoast will check if the keyword appears in your post URL and title. In addition, it will calculate the keyword density of your posts. This plugin also checks and analyzes the inbound and outbound links in your posts. Another great feature of this plugin is the ability to create noindex and nofollow tags to your pages, archives, tags and categories.

5. WP Social

One of the best things about WP Social is that it integrates with other major SEO plugins such as All in One and Yoast. This plugin allows you to add social media sharing buttons, add Twitter meta data, insert Facebook open graph tags, and add microdata. All these tasks can be executed with just one click of a button.

With all these WordPress SEO plugins, you don’t have to get stressed about optimizing your site. All you need to do is get one installed and enjoy the benefits.
