Having a good start to your morning will help you to have more energy to cultivate productivity in your day. Creating the perfect morning routine will ensure that you begin the day in the right way. There are several different habits that you can develop to help you be more energetic and productive. This article will address seven morning rituals that you can implement into your daily routine to give you more energy.

1. Get Physical in the Morning

Physical activity is one of the main ways that you can give your day (especially your morning) an added boost of energy. Begin a ritual of adding physical activity into your morning routine. You can add a variety of physical activity to your daily ritual, such as physical intimacy with your partner, yoga, plyometrics, and cardio exercise. With regard to any type of exercise plan you decide to implement, try to add some variety to the regimen in order to help keep your interest. It is important to create an exercise plan that works for your current life situation, as well as skill level and physical abilities. Find the plan that works best for you so that you will be more inclined to form positive habits that you’ll continue.

2. Start Dry Brushing Your Skin

There are many benefits to dry brushing your skin each morning. One benefit is exfoliation where dead skin is removed, pores are unclogged and your skin can breathe. Additionally, dry brushing stimulates the lymphatic system, which aids in eliminating cellular waste. A third reason is that the process also increases the circulation in your skin which encourages the elimination of metabolic waste. Begin the process by brushing in the direction of your heart. With regard to your arms and legs, start at your hands and feet and move in to the direction of your core. After dry brushing, be sure to apply lotion to keep your skin moisturized. Completing this process as a part of your daily or weekly morning routine will help you feel more energized.

3. Listen to Mood-Inspiring Tunes

Set your alarm clock (or app on a mobile device) to play mood-inspiring music. Waking up to such tunes will set the mood for your morning. Anything you can do to get your mind into the right, positive perspective each morning will help you to be more energized and productive throughout the day. Take into account whether you are a morning or evening person. For example, if you thrive in the morning, maybe playing upbeat music will motivate you further. However, if you are not a morning person, playing more relaxing tunes will help you to get started in your day. Remember that the type of music you play in the morning will help to set the tone for your day. So, chose your tunes wisely.

4. Take Time to Reflect Each Morning

Taking time for reflection each morning can help you to refocus your perspective and energize your mind and body. Meditation does not have to be a long, drawn-out event. Even simply taking the time to sit in quiet reflection for 10-15 minutes in the morning will boost your energy for the day. Reflection should become a personal experience and not something that you are trying to copy from someone else’s methods. Of course, you can seek out how others practice meditation. However, find a method that is comfortable for you. If you meditate for longer than an hour in the morning, you run the risk of becoming too calm. That defeats the purpose of trying to find ways to increase your daily energy level.

5. Focus on Your Main Daily Goals

Another way to increase your energy level is to implement a short goal planning ritual to your daily routine. This should not become a long process. Simply focus on three of your main goals to accomplish that day. Think of the priority goals and not everything you need to complete. Only focusing on three (rather than all your daily goals) will keep you focused and not overwhelmed with everything you must finish that day. The purpose of this ritual is to refocus your “morning” mind to become motivated to succeed during the day.

6. Drink Warm Lemon Water

Drinking warm lemon water each morning is helpful in jumpstarting your body’s digestive processes. You can drink cool water as well. However, sometimes, first thing in the morning, it’s better to drink warmer water so it’s not such a shock to your system. For those who may not like the bitter taste of the lemon flavor, add raw honey for some extra “healthy” sweetness. Remember that one of the first things you should drink in the morning is water, especially since your body has not been ingesting any during your 6-8 hours of sleep. Our bodies need to be replenished with water each day. So what better way to energize your morning than starting off with a glass of water (with lemon)?

7. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Eating a healthy diet is vital to maintaining an optimal level of health. It is even more important to eat a healthy breakfast so that you receive the proper nutrients to energize your body to make it through the day until lunch time. Opt for adding protein to your breakfast through eating eggs, smoothies or grains and nuts. Fiber is also important and you can get that through eating apples or fiber-rich waffles or pancakes.
