Arms bearing Christians seem to take everything personally. Oh, I forgot to add far right Republican gun-toting Christians, aaah that’s much better. Well, the latest pimple on the collective butt of the F.R.R.G.T.C. (far right republican gun toting Christians) is Starbucks red cups.
Yes, they are up in excessively powerful arms (for self-defense y’all) over a freaking cup…a cup, people. And as every movement needs its mascot the F.R.R.G.T.C. has chosen as of late, Donald Trump. A man that could easily embody the exact opposite of “Christian Ideals” including greed, vanity, pride, lust (a slew of ex-model/ex-wives…just saying), anger and his hair if not already a sin should definitely be added to the list. Damn, he’s 5 for 7 of the deadly sins…are uber-right Christians supporting him as an example to avoid? I’m so confused. Well, to add to my confusion, now the F.R.R.G.T.C. are running a campaign against a cup, why well, because of religion.

They’re on CNN, Because of a Cup
If you think this is just hyped up viral marketing scheme or just one random zealot losing his sh*t over an elegantly stripped down red cup…no this was featured on CNN, and not just as a “hey check out this crazy crap” side story with a civilized chuckle from the reporter. No, it was a full blown discussion between a political analyst/reporter and said crazy zealot.
Although his rhetoric is the normal level of insane for someone that claims to be a Christian but also a gun advocate…at exactly 6.25 he pulls the classic go-to for the F.R.R.G.T.C. “Obama isn’t Christian” if they left him to his own machinations I’m sure he would eventually throw in their second favorite phrase “They took our jobs!”
Not Just CNN
Social media has been abuzz with both the F.R.R.G.T.C. and not-so-Christian people mocking them. And the results are hilarious!
Ultimately this isn’t an attack on Christmas, Christ or Christians. It’s being used as a premise to make an attack on tolerance and the embracement of diversity (both ethnic and religious). Unfortunately, many people use their religion as a guise to openly discriminate, much like the Uber-Christian that spoke on CNN saying: “a large demographic of Christian Americans that are saying we are fed up with being politically correct and it’s time to just be correct.” Following up the gem above with the Non-Christian Obama verbal turd. So this man, (I use the term as loosely as possible) claims that he and his ilk are tired of being politically correct which is defined by Merriam-Webster’s as:
Agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people
They are tired of not offending people?…that seems very Christian. So, instead of being politically correct, they choose bias and reflecting personal preferences as absolute truths. Of course, you can accept your personal preferences as absolute truths but that has the tendency to spin out of control pretty quick.
Honestly, people being preoccupied with things so insignificant in a world that is burning is a poor reflection of the times we live in. As the political speaker says in response to the red-cup-Christian, instead of making a huge deal about a cup design, maybe the more Christian thing would be to feed a person in need, instead of using religious ideals to self-promote and justify bigotry, intolerance and insensitivity.
