Home! Sweet home! There’s nothing like coming home after a long day, opening the door and being welcomed by a furry friend. This is the concept featured in Coldwell Banker’s commercial, in a bid to create awareness about pet adoption and encourage people to adopt dogs.
The 60-second spot is set to debut on ABC during the 87 annual Academy Awards on the 22 of February. The brand has been helping people find their dream home for more than a century. This year, it teams up with Adopt-a-Pet.com to help 20,000 adoptable dogs find a home through the Homes for Dogs Project.
The TV spot features real rescue dogs; one of these is Max who was adopted last year after being spotted on Adopt-a-Pet.com. The ad capitalises on the magical feeling both pet and owner share the moment they meet each other after a long day as well as the ‘waiting’ game that pets perform as they anticipate their masters.
With this witty ad, Coldwell Banker goes beyond advertising the core aspects of buying a home. It rather connects consumers with the concept of home in an emotional way, focusing on the idea that a home has more value with a dog waiting for us on the other side of the door!
