Emma Watson is joining Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, in the lead role of Belle. The Harry Potter actress said in a tweet that she’s so excited about the film that her inner child has awakened. According to the Hollywood Reporter since its first release in 1991, the animated Beauty and the Beast has brought in more than $145 million domestically in various releases, not accounting for inflation.
Disney announced that the production of the film will begin later this year, but there is no information regarding its release date. Bill Condon will direct the film while David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films will be involved in the production.
Emma Watson couldn’t fit this role better as she is a great role model for young girls. Both she and Belle are independent, well-spoken and sympathetic characters. Watson recently dedicated her Britannia Award to her dead hamster. Also, both women come from France. Don’t forget that the tale of Beauty and the Beast took place in France.
The 24-year-old actress said, “I can’t wait for you to see it”. And yes we can’t see the time to see her in this new, challenging role. Are you also looking forward to watching this movie? Watch this video to find out more.
