Fat Fighting Foods

Diet, exercise and sleep; the 3 fundamental parts of creating a healthy, fit, fat fighting physique.  Out of the 3 listed, diet is commonly the aspect that people struggle most with.  Sometimes stress can be the cause of a bad diet, or simply being too busy to cook fresh, healthy meals each night! If work is taking over your life and you don't have time to hit the gym, try incorporating these ingredients in your diet to lose a few pounds while sitting at your desk.

Here's 6 foods that fight fat and kill calories due to their natural qualities.

In almost all of the fat burning pills on the shelves, one of the main active ingredients is caffeine. This is due to caffeine boosting your metabolism, subsequently burning off calories. The best part is that whilst your calories are being torched your glucose (Blood sugar) levels stay at a good level, keeping you alert, awake and active, meaning you may even function better than normal. Win, win!

Cayenne Pepper

This spice gives your food a real kick, making the most boring recipes buzz, as long as you’re a fan of spicy foods, if not, don’t over-do it. This condiment fires up your metabolic rate, burning calories, not just burning your mouth!

Fish Oil

The good fats in omega 3 fish oil ups the fat burning in your body by reducing the insulin levels by up to 50%. Insulin stores fat and reduces the use of fat as fuel, by reducing your insulin levels your body starts using fat as an energy source and subsequently storing less!

Green Tea

One of the most famous natural fat burners. This earth-sourced fat burner increases your 24 hour energy expenditure, raises your metabolic rate and increases the levels of norepinephrine in the body, the hormone responsible for burning fat.

Garlic, not just a defence against vampires but a defence against the dreaded gut! This spice acts as a thermogenic, kicking your metabolism up a gear and burning more fat. Garlic also contains Allicin, a known unhealthy fat-reducer. Just beware; garlic has been known to cause bad breath!

Full of anti-oxidants, berries such as blueberries and raspberries have been shown to lower fat cell development by a significant amount. They’re also high in natural sugars so you get a bit of a boost in your energy levels whilst enjoying a low calorie snack.
