Focus on networking

Networking, not headhunting, is the key to finding the best candidates. Networking is the magic formula to finding someone who will fit in with the culture of your company. After all, you will have had the opportunity to meet that individual, establish whether he or she believes in your mission and will be able to help you take your company to the next level.

Advertise a reduced salary

Although money is important, it isn’t everything. A candidate who is passionate about pursuing their career will accept an entry-level job at a reduced salary, because they are committed to climbing up the career ladder – not landing a job with a huge wage. While bad candidates focus on money, good ones are just after a job that will leave them feeling satisfied.

Find a candidate who is even better than you!

Don’t be afraid to hire people who are better than you. As your company gets bigger you will find it increasingly difficult to manage new candidates. Therefore by hiring candidates that are of a very high calibre (admit it, even better than you), you will only be helping your company to grow and succeed over time.
