Joining the Philippines National Police

The Philippines National Police (PNP) is the official police force for the Republic of the Philippines. This governmental agency was established after the merging of the Philippines Constabulary and the Integrated National Police in 1991. There are an estimated 140,000 individuals employed in the PNP.

 

The basic role of the PNP includes the following:

  • Enforce the law throughout the Philippines

  • Ensure that peace and order is maintained

  • Prevent crime and investigate incidents and accidents

  • Take offenders of laws to justice

  • Detain individuals who have been arrested for offences

 

Individuals who wish to join the Philippines National Police must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Citizenship of the Philippines

  • Good moral conduct

  • Complete the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests successfully

  • Formal bachelors from a listed institution

  • Clean criminal record

  • Minimum height 1.62m for men, and 1.57m for women

These are a few of the requirements for joining the PNP. It is highly advised to contact the government agency to receive a full and comprehensive list of the minimum requirements to ensure that you complete the procedure professionally.

 

When making the official application to join the PNP, individuals must provide a set of documents to prove their identity and other important information. The following is a brief list of a few of the documents required:

  • Birth certificate

  • Clearance from Barangay, Local Police Station, RTC, MTC and NBI

  • College diploma and transcript

  • Physical and medical clearance

  • CSC Form 212 (revised 2005)
