Today, Prime Minister Victor Ponta has attended, along with Cabinet members a meeting with ambassadors of EU Member States accredited to Bucharest.

Prime Minister has stated that on May 9, on Europe’s Day, it is the best opportunity to reaffirm the determination of the Romanian Government to fulfill all commitments at European level. "This special day is the best opportunity to assure you that we are really determined to work together for the good of Romania and Europe," the Head of the Executive has sent to European ambassadors accredited to Bucharest.

Prime Minister said that yesterday, the Chamber of Deputies passed by a large majority the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance within Economic and Monetary Union, step designed to convey to Europe a message of accountability, predictability and our commitment of collaboration within the European Union.

At the same time, Prime Minister Victor Ponta has sent today a message on the occasion of Europe’s Day: "Today, we celebrate Europe Day! It marks 62 years since the first step towards a united Europe, a Europe of solidarity first and foremost - the fundamental principle which underlies the future of European construction and, unfortunately, the principle hardest hit by latest years’ austerity. Therefore, I strongly believe that it is high time for economic recovery to occur under the rule of solidarity and sustainable growth and employment to take the place of austerity. This is, both the belief and mission that I assume for European Romania! Many Happy Returns of the day to all Romanian citizens, European citizens! "
