Recruitment to the Sri Lanka Police

Working for the Sri Lanka police is a challenging yet rewarding career to follow. However, entry to the police is largely dependent on each applicant’s ability to satisfy the entry conditions. Individuals who are interested in a police career in Sri Lanka should be aware of the recruitment procedure and other relevant conditions that they will be expected to meet.

 

Recruitment procedure of the Sri Lanka Police:

-          The Ministry of Defence must provide funds for the post

-          Vacancy is then written in English, Sinhala and Tamil and sent to the Government Language Department for approval

-          Vacancy is then sent to the Government Press to be published

 

The advertisement must include all the necessary information that interested candidates would require in order to progress in a career with the police, this includes but is not limited to:

-          Title of the vacancy

-          Salary

-          Qualifications required

-          Physical fitness requirements

-          Medical

-          Conditions of appointment and of service

-          Recruitment procedure including interview process
