Edward Snowden is going to seek employment in Russia soon according to his legal representative. You probably remember his name as he was the focus of international attention over the summer, after he leaked classified evidence of US government surveillance programs to the media.
“I think that he is going to seek employment,” lawyer Anatoly Kucherena explained to the media in a press conference last Wednesday, adding that Snowden currently lives on his previous savings and donations.
“He lives quite modestly in Russia,” the lawyer added. He said in mid-September that Snowden might engage in human rights campaigning. His career choice might focus on fighting for human rights and collaborate with non- profit organisations in different international causes.
Snowden, a computer specialist and former employee of the US National Security Agency (NSA), fled to Hong Kong and then to Moscow after his scandal blew up internationlly. He was granted temporary asylum in Russia in late July despite repeated extradition demands from Washington.
Russia has welcomed him with open arms and have even selected him as a candidate for the European Parliament’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, named after Soviet scientist and dissident Andrei Sakharov, which honors people or organizations for their work in the defense of human rights and freedom of thought.
The work that you do to make a living takes up a large portion of your time and energy. Therefore it really needs to make you happy. Some celebrities, like Snowden are not afraid to change their career path. Have you ever consider to change yours?
