Sticky Notes For Your Laptop: Keep Your Lists Handy When Jobseeking

sticky notes for Windows XP

How do you stay organized? If you're a list person, you may want to take a page from the Macintosh and put some sticky notes on your desktop or laptop wallpaper.

The problem with those little yellow sticky notes is they tend to fall off of whatever you paste them on, then you have a bunch of little notes lying around that are totally useless. But if you can add the sticky notes to your computer screen, they will not fall off. You have a useful tool that you can use to keep yourself organized.

If you use Windows 7 or have a Tablet PC, then Windows has a Sticky Notes app that you can download.

Evernote users can download a free app to share your Evernotes on your desktop. Stickies are synchronized with your Evernote account and can even be updated on multiple devices. Notes are customizable by color and other formatting easily.

Stickies is a PC utility for Windows XP that is easy to use and includes some incredible features, including:

  • The ability to change sticky note size and color
  • Font formatting
  • Drag and drop at the point of your mouse
  • Attachable to your browser window, open document, or desktop
  • Add a new sticky note with a single click from your icon tray
  • Alarms that sound based on your programmable instructions
  • Store text or images
  • Permanent even when you reboot your computer, yet you can delete them at any time

Stickies is free and available from Zhorn Software.

How To Use Your Digital Sticky Notes For Job Hunting

Imagine gearing up for your job search and you power up your laptop to see what you have going for the day. Right there on your desktop is a big visible yellow sticky with your to-do list for the day, which you diligently wrote up the night before because you are a highly organized go-getter. All you have to do is go down the list and get things done.

You can create multiple sticky notes for your organizational ease. Create one for potential employers along with phone numbers and contact person. This makes calling on jobs easy, especially if you're doing it from home.

If your goal for the day is to fill out applications or send out resumes, you can create a separate sticky note, color coded, with addresses so that you can visit all the places you want to visit for the day. You can even print the sticky note and take it with you!

Fans of sticky notes should have no problem finding an application to download for their laptop or desktop computer. Get rid of the clutter and use digital notes.
