How would you react if you were in a hospital and later found out that the doctor who took care of you wasn’t actually a doctor? Well, good luck to those patients at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Florida who had the opportunity to meet the teenage boy who was posing as a doctor for over a month. This smart guy was fooling people by wearing a white lab coat, carrying around a stethoscope and sometimes wearing a face mask. He was walking around the hospital’s corridors pretending to be a doctor, talking to patients and hospital staff. Luckily for patients, he didn’t perform any operations!
Dr Sebastian Kent, an OB/GYN, caught the impostor who introduced himself as Dr Robinson in the examination room to a patient. What Dr Kent thought at first was, "I am getting, I am really getting old because these young doctors look younger every year."
So far, we have usually seen doctors in Hollywood movies such as the epic, ’Catch me if you can’, where Leonardo Di Caprio was faking his way through medical duties. But it seems that the trend, of masquerading as a doctor, is not far from reality! In 2012, Michael Scheidt, a 17-year-old man was arrested for posing as a medical assistant for five days!
