The Rise of Women in Business [Infographic]

Despite the fact that over the last few decades, women have been less prominent than men within the world of business, it seems that more and more women are on the rise! Recent data revealed that more women will hold management positions in the future and that it is possible we will have a lot more female CEOs and executives running a business in the US.

This infographic from Career Glider presents some very useful data in regards to the rise of women executives and explains why the business landscape is changing. As you can see from the infographic, this is partly because more women are college graduates in contrast to men and are therefore considered as well-educated and competent individuals to hold an executive position.

Key Takeaways:

  • 50.8% of women hold the majority of all undergraduate and post-graduate degrees.
  • Women hold 60% of Master’s degrees, including 44% in business and management and 37% MBAs.
  • Women hold 51.4% of business and management-related occupations in the US.
  • 1 in 5 companies with revenue of $1 million or more are owned by women.
