There are few careers that can offer personal satisfaction like a career in the arts, but it’s usually the more technical careers (engineering, architecture, etc.) that offer the highest pay. Thankfully, with interior design, you get a combination of arts and architecture, making it one of the best careers for the artistically inclined to consider!

1. Savannah College of Art and Design

This school is located not just in Savannah, Georgia, but it has facilities in Atlanta, the French city of Lacoste, and even in Hong Kong. It’s ranked as the top interior design school in the US for undergrad programs, and is one of the top five graduate schools in the country.

This design school is located in Italy, and has one of the highest postgraduate success rates of any arts schools in Europe. It specializes in design, fashion, communication, and visual arts, with over 10,000 students attending every year.

3. Pratt Institute

This Brooklyn, New York-based school of interior design isn’t just one of the top interior design colleges in the United States but also one of the best colleges overall in the Northeastern United States. It specializes in architecture and industrial design along with interior design.

This Milanese postgraduate training institution offers a highly intensive education in the field of design, particularly interior design. It focuses on visual communication but only opens its doors to around 200 students per year.

6. ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering

Located in Barcelona, Spain, this school is considered not only the best design university in the country but as one of the best in Europe and the world. More than 2,200 students attend the school each year, and the postgraduate success rate is very high.

7. Rhode Island School of Design

This fine arts college is located in Rhode Island, and is considered on par with Yale University as one of the top-ranked arts schools in the United States. It has an incredibly tough enrollment test and has a high international ranking in the field of arts.

8. Domus Academy

For those who want to study fashion and design, Domus Academy in Milan, Italy offers a year-long Master’s Degree-level course in interior and living design. However, it cannot award Master’s Degrees due to the fact that it is not listed by the Italian Ministry of Education.

Located in Helsinki, Finland, Aalto University teaches technology, economics, and art and design. All six of the schools that comprise Aalto University are renowned in their disciplines, and it is one of the most innovative universities in the world.
