Vodafone’s Discover Programme Looks for Future Business Leaders

Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile telecommunications firm, offers two graduate programmes in the UK, Discover and Discover Technology. Discover has a more commercial focus and Technology, as you the name suggests, looks for technologists with commercial awareness.

The Discover Technology programme is a great way to build up work experience and explore Vodafone’s varied technology teams that range from Networks and Service Operations, to IT and Innovation.  The Discover programme will give you the opportunity to gain experience and equip you with leadership skills in areas like marketing, sales, finance or project management. Vodafone seeks to find business savvy people who can balance the big picture with the smallest details.

Vodafone’s graduate scheme works on a rotational basis over two years at its Newbury campus, South East England. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, and have real responsibility, working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

The Structure of the Programme

Retail placement

You’ll join the company’s regional team on a two-month placement in a Vodafone store close to where you live. This will give you the opportunity to meet Vodafone’s customers and its business.

Business placement

After this, you’ll go on two five-month placements to experience different business areas that are suited to your skills and ambitions. You could join Vodafone’s consumer, retail or business-to-business teams.

One-year placement

After your two business placements, you’ll then work in a business area of your choice for a year. So you can start to shape your career with the telecommunications firm.

 The company is committed in investing both and resources to train you – helping you become the best you can be. You’ll learn a lot and develop fast as you work on high-energy projects.

Entry Requirements

Vodafone does not necessarily look for candidates who possess a great deal of hard skills. In contrast, the firm seeks for candidates who boast a lot of commitment and passion. In brief, the company looks to hire candidates who have:

- Any degree subjects accepted

- 2:1 degree or higher is essential

- Passion for cutting-edge technology and bright ideas

- Plenty of entrepreneurial flair and determination

- The ability to work in the UK during a period of two years without support

The Benefits

The firm offers a competitive starting salary and you’ll get a £500 bonus just for joining. You’ll be working in one of Vodafone’s state-of-the-art offices, stores or customer service buildings. You’ll also get discounted membership to the company’s on-site gym and many friends and family discounts.

00 am and average ending time is 5.00 pm.

Application Process

Once you’ve applied, you will get contacted within two working days and learn whether you’re through to the next stage.

Successful applicants will then receive an email with a link to Vodafone’s online numerical, verbal and inductive reasoning test. When you’ve passed those, you will go through a phone interview.

The final stage involves an assessment day at the company’s headquarters in Newbury. This includes a group exercise, interview and presentation. If you’re successful, within two working days you will receive an offer to join the company.
