How To Work Independently Using Digital Automation Tools

digital tools

Tired of multi-tasking?

Digital automation is the use of applications and tools to assist in everyday tasks. These tools are designed to be integrated with workflows and basic business structures.

What Are The Benefits Of Digital Automation Tools?

For businesses that lack manpower, digital automation tools serve as a great solution. The right applications can boost productivity and efficiency. For example, imagine sending out an email to 2,000 customers one by one. Even with a template, that could take all day. The reality is for whoever is sending out the big batch of emails, there are more things to be done for the day. Digital automation tools can do complex tasks within minutes.

Next, these productivity applications can help startups cut costs. Social media automation tools such as Hootsuite can be preset months in advance, allowing an employee to setup and schedule a month’s worth of posts on various platforms all in one day. Such tools are essential for workers who want to decrease time in front of the computer.

Digital apps can also decrease human error. We’ve all sent an email to the wrong person before, or attached the wrong file and so forth. Because these tools are designed to run consistently and will not do anything beyond your command, you can sleep at night without worrying about the accuracy of your marketing strategy. Less errors at work can easily make you more independently reliable.

Top 5 Tips For Using Digital Automation Tools

1. Don’t be too generic. It’s tempting to automate all your messages. For company memos and customer surveys, that’s ok. But for customer interaction, sending out general emails can turn off clients. Once customers start feeling like they are communicating with a robot, they will question other parts of the company’s structure and staff.

2. Align your digital automation tools with your goals. Digital automation tools come with analytics for a reason. Businesses usually have a target in mind such as open rate percentage, conversion rate or positive feedback ratio. Instead of opting to use all the functions of an application, it is best to first go back and check what your business goals are. Afterwards, select only the tools and functions that you need to achieve your goal. For complex tasks you may need to use more than one application.

3. Build smaller campaigns for specific audiences. An email campaign for your company’s 40 and above demographic should be different from your 20 and below target audience. This is the solution in making sure you are catering to all your customers’ needs, despite the difference in preferences.

4. Repeat what is working for you. If you launched a previous campaign that did very well, why not apply the same framework again for other projects? You don’t need to copy the entire campaign closely. Simply choose parts that apply to your company’s current marketing strategy for the next project.

5. Use automation strictly for automation and nothing else. Businesses that try to patch holes in their campaign using marketing automation tools may find that it doesn’t work. If there is a flaw in the design of you company’s process or content, it can’t be fixed through automation.
