The Department of Defence in Russia provides operational leadership to the armed forces within the country. The primary purpose of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has the exclusive authority over the military of the country, managing the daily operations of the armed forces. The Russian president is considered to be the commander in chief of all operations, whilst the General Staff ensures that all instructions and orders of the Ministry are carried out in an orderly manner.
The Defence Intelligence Agency is one of the branches of the Department of Defense. There are a number of primary requirements that need to be fulfilled in order to successfully work for the Russian government.
The following is a brief outline of the basic criteria for the position of language specialist in Russia:
- All applicants must be Russian citizenship holders
- Applicant must be fluent in Russian and the English language as the job role will require communication in the form of writing, speaking and reading
- Have experience in translation and interpretation
- The successful candidate should be able to work with various language software and type in Russian language
The candidate will be required to work closely with the Defence Intelligence Agency and the Department of Defence of the Russian Federation. The job role will require the individual to deal with letters, memoranda, maps, charts, documents, reports, statistical information, data and other printed or digital documents in Russian and/or other languages. These documents may be subject to interpretation and translation by the candidate.
Secondary responsibilities of the candidate will involve liaising between the office and foreign government embassies and offices, providing the correct translation and information. It is imperative that the candidate have knowledge with regards to subject matter and terminology of translating official documents in English for official use.
