The law enforcement and civil policing body in Azerbaijan is under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country. This government agency control and administers the National Police of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ensuring that the citizens of the country are protected against criminal activity and terrorist threat. The Azerbaijan Police Academy is responsible for the training and education of all candidates who wish to work as officers of public security.
The following is a brief outline of the requirements for the Azerbaijan Police Academy:
All male candidates for the Azerbaijan police must be above 165cm, whilst all females must be a minimum of 160cm. Generally the individuals are recruited while they are students of the secondary school, being aged between 16 and 18 years old.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has a general outline of how the candidates will be assessed with regards to their physical fitness. This includes running the distance of 100m and 1000m in a certain amount of time.
In addition to the physical fitness test, candidates must take the entrance exam for the Police Academy. This is often referred to as the State Student Admission Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The knowledge of Russian and Azerbaijani is a prerequisite. All candidates will be informed about the date, location and other details with regards to the exam by the State Commission on Student Admission Commission.
To pursue the admission with the Azerbaijan Police Academy, individuals are required to provide the following documentation:
