Working in the UAE Public Sector

The public sector employs over half of the Emiratisation of jobs in Abu Dhabi. The competition surrounding jobs in the public sector stems from the excellent working conditions, attractive salary packages, and job security that government jobs provide.

Types of public sector jobs

Career opportunities in the UAE’s public sector are vast and diverse, ranging from jobs in the tourism industry, to jobs within the education sector and police force.

Tourism sector jobs

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) is responsible for the employment of UAE nationals into the tourism industry. Tourism is one of the most sought after sectors for job seekers with many employers providing excellent career prospects, training opportunities and scope for personal and professional growth.

The ADTA sponsors programs to help UAE nationals find work in the tourism industry. Some of these programs include; the Abu Dhabi Ambassador Programme, Cultural Guide Programme, Tourism Youth Summer Camp, Tourism Career Fair, etc.

Abu Dhabi Police Force Careers

University graduates and skilled high school students have the opportunity to explore opportunities for successful and long-term military and civil employment careers under various different departments of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP). Actively encouraging the applications from female candidates, the ADP is increasingly becoming a more equal sex employer. The ADP promotes fair working conditions, excellent career prospects and rates of pay to all those who meet the entry criteria.
