ABAP, which stands for "Advanced Business Application Programming", is a programming language created by SAP, the German software company renowned for developing enterprise software. Along with Java, ABAP is one of the most commonly used high level programming languages used to develop business applications, software, and systems. However, in ABAP’s case is is used almost exclusively to develop for the SAP system and as such is relatively niche.

As with any high-level programming languages, ABAP is not an easy one to learn! It is very complex, and it takes years of studying to master it completely. Thankfully, there is a wealth of information available online to help you get started learning ABAP programming:
1. SAP Brains Online
This site is dedicated to all things SAP-related, with tutorials on the various types of SAP software, functions, and systems. It offers a quick overview of ABAP, gives a look at the ABAP syntax, and offers a few guides to basic ABAP functions. It’s not the most comprehensive of resources, but it can be a good starting point for beginners.
The Udemy ABAP Programming course is NOT free of charge, but you are able to preview the course for free. You get access to it for 3 to 7 days, after which time you will have to pay. But for 133 lectures and 14 hours of videos, it’s worth the price! Course creator Peter Moxon teaches the fundamentals of ABAP programming, programming language, and basic skills needed to create programs using ABAP. For those who want to learn ABAP the easy way, this is a course worth considering.
3. SAP Hub
SAP Hub has a wide range of tutorials on SAP products and skills, and the ABAP tutorials will help you learn basic and intermediate programming. You’ll learn the ABAP terms, Open SQL, Internal Tables, Messages, ALV Reports, Modularization, and so much more. The tutorials are broken into bite-sized chunks that will help you learn ABAP in no time.
As the second largest search engine in the world, YouTube has a vast wealth of educational resources!
Peter Moxon (the creator of the Udemy ABAP course) has a series of 34 ABAP programming videos, helping you to gets started and learn the basics of ABAP.
You can also do a YouTube search for "ABAP Tutorials", and it will provide you a list of 35,000+ resources to check out!
While the educational resources on Guru99 aren’t as comprehensive as those available on some of the other sites listed here, there is enough to help you get started with basic ABAP programming. You learn things like the Data Dictionary, Modularity, SAP Internal Tables, Open SQL, Table Controls, Report and Dialog Programming, and more. It’s as good a starting place as any.
6. Free SAP Tutorials
This website has a tutorial called "Create First ABAP Program in SAP" that will help you get started with ABAP programming. It’s simple, easy to follow, and will walk you through the steps to creating and constructing a simple program with ABAP.
