Social Media Demographics: Who Uses What?

Does anyone from your target group use Instagram? Are you perhaps a recruiter and you want to know whether young adults still use LinkedIn? These are common types of questions all companies need to ask before investing time and money in a social media campaign. Grasping a picture of the demographics of social media users is key to properly target your audience.

Luckily, a new infographic from DocStoc and the Pew Research Center provides you with a snapshot of the latest trends regarding popular social media usage based on various demographics such as age, sex, population density, educational level and race.

On the whole, it seems that women use social media relatively more than men whereas city inhabitants spend 9% more time on social media than those living in rural areas.  Also, Facebook appears to be the most popular social network among adults, followed by LinkedIn.

Check out the infographic to find out more interesting facts.
